MINATARE—The Guernsey-Sunrise Vikings are going to have a lot of challenges this season and they got a taste of it Saturday as the Minatare (NE) Indians handed the Vikes a 44-19 loss.
With just 10 players on this year’s roster, the Vikings are going to have to rely on their most experienced to lead the way as there won’t be much help from such a short bench.
Complete stats were not available for the game but putting points up for the Vikings were Ryan Harms, 12; Justin Malcom, 2; Dale Mote, 2; Tate Stoneking, 2; and Austin Albrecht, 1.
The Vikings will play in the Lingle Tournament this weekend. On Friday, they’ll take on St. Stephens at 1:30 p.m. and Kaycee at 7:30 p.m. Then on Saturday, they face Midwest at 4:30 p.m. for their final game before the holiday break.
They’ll resume play on Friday, January 5th when they host Morrill.
