Lady Vikings split regular season finales

GUERNSEY – The Guernsey-Sunrise Lady Vikings volleyball team defeated Midwest and fell to Rock River over the weekend to conclude the regular season with a 7-13 overall record. 

On Friday, Guernsey-Sunrise defeated Midwest in four sets (25-22, 25-19, 21-25, 25-21) and then finished the regular season falling to Rock River (25-9, 25-12, 25-22) Saturday.

Against Midwest, senior Rylie Thompson led the Vikings offensively with eight kills and five ace serves. The senior also finished with a team-high 20 defensive digs. Sophomore Kierstyn Collar tallied seven kills and 18 digs, while junior Hayeden Bingham added five kills, four aces and five digs. 

Senior Juliana Schiele had three kills and three blocks, while junior Layla Noggle had a team-high 12 assists to go with nine digs. Juniors Jordan Atwood and LaShea Dimas added 15 digs apiece for the Vikings, while junior Liberty Whitebird had 16 digs.

On Saturday, the Vikings were led by Schiele’s four kills, two blocks and six digs, while Collar had three kills and 20 digs. Thompson added three kills, two blocks and 16 digs, and Noggle tallied eight assists and six digs. LaShea Dimas had nine digs, Bingham chipped in seven digs and two kills, while Leni Dimas had two kills and two digs. Atwood and Whitebird tallied six digs apiece for the Vikings.
