Ronald Charles Gilson

Ronald Charles Gilson, 90, of Guernsey, Wyoming passed away on April 13 in Galveston, Texas.
Ronald was born March 20, 1935 in Spooner, Wisconsin, where he was raised by his mother Alice Dahl and grandmother. He was a big Badger fan all his life. Upon graduating from high school, he moved to Havre, Montana, where he met Marian. They got married in 1957.
Ronald enlisted in the US Army, so they moved to El Paso, Texas while he did three years of service.
After the Army, they moved back to Havre, where he began a lifelong career in the railroad industry with Burlington Northern Santa Fe.
In 1960, they had a son. As a family they loved traveling around the state of Montana sightseeing. In the mid 1980’s, the BNSF transferred Ronald to Guernsey, Wyoming, where he eventually retired with 40 years of service.
Throughout his life, he was active in the Masonic Lodge and became a Master Mason and a Shriner. He enjoyed helping others work their way through the Masonic degrees. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially hunting trips to Dubois, Wyoming with his buddies. He was a devout husband of 68 years to Marian, and caregiver for the past ten years.
Ronald is survived by wife Marian, son Michael, daughter in law Vikkie, grandson Ryan, and great-granddaughter Autumn.
Private funeral ceremony was held in Texas.
