Regular Meeting

CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Delgado called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm. The assembly joined the Pledge of Allegiance and was welcomed to the meeting.

AGENDA: CM Michaels moved to approve the agenda. CW Wells seconded. The motion carried.
MINUTES: CM Fields moved to approve July 21, 2026 minutes as presented. CM Michaels seconded. The motion carried. CW Wells abstained.
CONSIDERATION OF CLAIMS: Mayor Delgado presented the vouchers for approval. CW Wells moved to approve the Considerations of Claims in the amount of $127,104.29. Seconded by CM Fields. PUBLIC COMMENT: Ron Green announced the VFW will host a Forum for candidates on August 12th at 5:30pm. Reilley London wanted to call attention to the lack of childcare options in the town.
GOLDEN SHOVEL: The winning yard goes to John and Georgia Hillen!
COALITION AGAINST BIGGER TRUCKS: Representatives from the state of Wyoming are asking towns to stand against legislation that would increase allowed weight limits on commercial semi-trucks.
COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION REPORTS: None.
DEPARTMENT REPORTS: Chief Harrison gave a Police Department update. Officer Walker will be headed to the academy on August 24th. Patrol vehicles are in the shop and need to look at being replaced. CW Wells asked Chief how many tickets they have written. Reminder to check with Malcolm Ervin on the Inmate Housing contract.
MAYOR AND COUNCIL REPORT: CM Michaels wanted to remind everyone that Sturgis is taking place and motorcycles are out in full force, so save a life, look twice. Mayor Delgado and all Council members thanked the public works and town employees for a job well done. Reminder to be a good neighbor, when it’s hot like this or freezing cold please check on your neighbors.
