Regular Meeting

PRESENT: Mayor Delgado, CM Harris, CW Wells, CM Fields, CM Michaels

CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Delgado called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm. The assembly joined the Pledge of Allegiance and was welcomed to the meeting.

AGENDA: CM Michaels moved to approve the agenda. CM Wells seconded. The motion carried. 

MINUTES: CW Wells moved to approve May 19, 2026 minutes as presented. CM Fields seconded. The motion carried. 

CONSIDERATION OF CLAIMS: Mayor Delgado presented the vouchers for approval. CW Wells moved to approve the Considerations of Claims in the amount of $133,484.76, seconded by CM Harris. OATH OF OFFICE: Mayor Delgado swore in Alton Walker and Chad Brush as Guernsey’s new Police Officers.

PUBLIC COMMENT: Ada Pulos asked about the old planters and what to do with old fire extinguishers. Karen Pope suggested the National Guard fly over the parade on the fourth of July. Shawna Reichert addressed the Town Budget. GOLDEN SHOVEL: The winning yard goes to Sue Bristow! BICYCLE ORDINANCE 2026-006 2ND READING: CM Michaels approved the 2nd  Reading. Seconded by CM Fields. The motion carried. BUDGET ORDINANCE 2027-001, 2ND READING: CM Michaels approved the Budget 2nd Reading. Seconded by CW Wells. The motion carried. COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION REPORTS: D. Griffith announced we are off to a great start this year for the Visitor Center. DEPARTMENT REPORTS: M. Fronapfel gave an update on the swim pool and the street sweeper. Chief Harrison followed up on CW Wells’ request for how many tickets his department has issued this year so far. MAYOR AND COUNCIL REPORT: CM Harris asked about the motor that was replaced in the PW’s truck. CM Michaels thanked the town on behalf of WMPA for hosting a good meeting. Remind customers their trash goes in the dumpsters or the landfill. CM Fields welcomed the new officers to the Guernsey family. Mayor Delgado thanked the candidates that have stepped up to run for election, because it is not easy. ANNOUNCEMENTS: Mayor announced the Next Council meeting is scheduled for June 16, 2026. Music on the trail hike is June 6, 2026. ADJOURNMENT: CW Wells moved to adjourn. Seconded by CM Harris. The motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 6:38 pm.
