Graveside memorial services for Marietta Jean Posten, 88, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16 at Prairie Rest Cemetery in Guernsey with Pastor Bill Walker officiating. Marietta died Jan. 11, 2025 at Banner Community Hospital in Torrington, and cremation has taken place. Memorials may be given to the Laramie Peak Fire District. Arrangements are by the Colyer Funeral Home and condolences may be sent to www.colyerfuneralhome.com. 
Marietta was born Sept. 3, 1936 in Sunrise, the daughter of Frank and Vera (Scott) Bromley. She grew up in the mountains at Laramie Peak where her dad had a sawmill. She went to country school where her mom was the teacher. In seventh grade she moved to Wheatland and went to work for Dr. Allison and roomed with them at the hospital while going to school and working at the hospital. She graduated Wheatland High School in 1957 and continued working at the hospital until she married Marvin Posten on April 2, 1959. They moved to Guernsey where she lived for 54 years. She worked as a cook at the Guernsey-Sunrise schools for 25 years. She later cooked and drove the van at the Guernsey Senior Center for seven years.
Marietta enjoyed working with seniors, crocheting, camping and fishing. 
Marietta is survived by her sons Clinton (Dana) Bromley of Encampment, Rick (Sidney) Posten of Torrington and Trent (Louise) Posten of Gillette; a daughter Kathy (Shannon) Anderson of Woodland Park, Colorado; grandchildren Shaye Bromley, Forrest Bromley, Allison Bromley, Derrick Stewart, Jared Bromley, Sean Stewart, Casey Clarke, Reece Posten, Caleb Posten, Kyle Posten, Kody Posten, Tyrell Anderson, Tyson Anderson and Tylisha Anderson; 19 great-grandchildren; sisters Delda Branson, Joy Anderson, Net Hohnholt, Billie Eggleston, Tiny Walker and Faye Hanks; and a brother, Joe Bromley.
