Funeral services for Douglas K. Cermak, 71, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 28 at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Johnny Wimberly officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. Doug died May 19, 2025 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. He will be remembered as kind and caring. The casket will be closed. Doug was born May 9, 1954 in Ithaca, New York the son of Jack and Helen (Carlson) Cermak. He grew up in Colorado in the Fort Collins area. He learned auto mechanics in Fort Collins and he operated an auto repair shop there. He later moved to Torrington, Wyoming where he owned and operated Doug’s Repair and Towing. He married Anna Crouse on August 6, 2007 in Sturgis, South Dakota and they resided in Torrington. He also spent time in Yoder, Wyoming where he served as mayor and was the fire chief for the Yoder Fire Department. After retirement he worked for DC Drilling out of Lusk, Wyoming. They resided south of Lusk until 2024 when they moved back to Torrington.
Doug enjoyed auto repair, ice racing, target shooting, motorcycle riding, and camping. He served on the board for Wyoming Independent Living.
Doug is survived by his wife Anna of Torrington, and a stepson Loren Crouse of Denver, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Jonathan.
