Antonita “Toni” Earle Briner, 94, of Guernsey, passed away peacefully on
Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2024, at Platte County Legacy Home in Wheatland. She was born on June 16, 1930, in Moorcroft, to Dr. George W. Earle and Daisy Genevieve (Streeter) Earle.
A lifelong resident of Wyoming, Toni attended Natrona County High School and graduated with an associate degree from Casper College. Throughout her life she worked in the oil and railroad industries. Toni married Jerry Durant and had two children, Stuart and Tracey. They later divorced. In 1963 Toni married William (Bill) Forest Briner. The two moved to Guernsey and had one daughter, Penny. Toni lived in Guernsey until her death.
In her younger years, Toni was involved in music and theater, a passion enjoyed throughout her life. As an adult, she participated in fundraising for cancer research, was involved with Job’s Daughter Bethel #34, helped bring mental health services to Platte County, volunteered in schools, and mentored many young people on their journeys. Toni enjoyed the love of many animals, reading, knitting, gardening, and especially sharing her life stories. Toni was preceded in death by her husband, Bill and daughter, Tracey.
She is survived by her son, Stuart J. Briner of Guernsey; daughter, Penny Briner Ewell of Prescott, Arizonia (Clint); and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Toni’s life will occur at a later date.
Memorials in Toni’s name would be appreciated to the Cathedral Home, Laramie, or Casper College.
