WHEATLAND – Isaac CdeBaca represented the Guernsey golf team at the Wheatland Golf Course on Friday. WHS was one of three teams hosting events state-wide to start the spring season. It was an 80-degree weather day but produced solid individual scores for the boys. Invited to the tournament were Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne East, Douglas, Guernsey, Lusk, and Torrington.
WHS Sophomore Tate Nichols picked up where he left off last fall by winning the first spring tournament after he ended the fall season winning the 3A state title. Nichols carded a 69 (-3) which was good for a six shot win. Isaac scored an 85 for 18 holes which earned him 15th in the field of 30 golfers.
