FORT LARAMIE--WY “One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.” On July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong stepped from the Apollo 11 lunar lander and uttered these immortal words, becoming the first human to set foot on the moon.
Join us as Fort Laramie National Historic Site participates in the national celebration of this momentous event with a special program entitled “Moonlight Serenade.” The program will be held on June 15, 2019, at 7:00 pm at the park.
The program will begin with 19th century frontier musical entertainment provided by the Merchant Family as visitors watch the moonrise. The Merchants are from Casper, Wyoming, and are well known in the local three state area as superb musicians specializing in music that would have been commonly heard on the western emigrant trails.
