“Everyone did a good job,” Mayor Ed Delgado said.
Councilmember Dale Harris extended thanks to everyone involved in making the Christmas parade a success earlier this month. “It was pretty neat. The Air Force had quite a deal with Santa and his Sleigh. There were a lot of compliments [about the whole parade].”
“I’d like to echo those comments,” Councilmember Joe Michaels said. “Everything was great [with the parade], and the homes are lit up [beautifully].”
Ordinance 2024-001
Other business during the meeting included a motion to table the third reading of Ordinance 2024-001 until next month. Councilmember Kellie Augustyn said there needed to be more clarification by the Planning & Zoning Committee on conflicting information about parking by the fire station.
“It’s a busy street, and we need to make sure that works,” Augustyn said.
Mayor's Report
Additionally during the meeting, Mayor Delgado said he wanted to emphasize there is to be no smoking in town vehicles or buildings. That includes during food drives.
On another matter, he cited an incident that occurred near the construction site on the north side of town in which someone was trying to hook their truck up to a trailer to steal it. He mentioned they did not succeed, but he used the incident to warn Guernsey citizens, “Keep an eye on your stuff.”
The Guernsey Town Council’s next meeting will be at 6:00 p.m. January 6, 2024.
