BUFFALO – The Guernsey-Sunrise Lady Vikings volleyball team traveled to Buffalo for the 1A East Regional Tournament over the weekend.
The Lady Vikings faced off against Hulett in their opening round and dropped the three set match: 25-18, 25-11, and 25-4. GSHS bounced back and overcame Arvada-Clearmont in three sets later that afternoon by scores of: 25-19, 25-12, 25-20. This eliminated the Panthers and earned Guernsey-Sunrise a chance for state on day two.
GSHS would have to beat Lingle-Ft. Laramie in the 10:30 a.m. match to move on. The Lady Vikings put up a good fight but lost in three sets: 25-18, 25-22, 25-18. Thus the Guernsey-Sunrise team was eliminated and the Doggers qualified for state.
The Lady Vikings are ranked third in the 1A East conference, with an 18-10 record for the season.
