Queen Karley Lehman, Prince Chase Kelley, Princess Jacey Clark, and King Mario Garcia were voted to preside over the Guernsey-Sunrise High School prom, colorfully themed "Hawaiian Luau." Heading up the planning were Laura Green and Shelby Sizemore. The memorable event ncluded a pre-prom Hawaiian-themed dinner and after-prom party hosted by the G-S junior class parent group. Year-long fundraisers (50/50 raffles, holiday and special event dinners) and businesses helped fund the event to make it extra special. To provide a safe environment during prom, the pre- and post-prom events, the post-prom was a "glow-party" lockdown with fun activities, snacks, refreshments –and lots of door prizes, including a donation of four tickets to a Cheyenne Frontier Days rodeo, paddleboards, TVs, mini fridges, Keurig coffee pots, Igloo coolers, Beats headphones, Stanley water bottles, air fryers, gift cards and more. It was reported to have been a fun event for the students.
"We rely on the local businesses to help sponsor our efforts," said parent representative Anne Troupe.
