GUERNSEY – A new entrance door at the Guernsey branch of the Platte County Public Library will provide better access to its materials for people with disabilities.
A ramp leading to the library’s front entrance was erected a couple of years ago, but now the door opens by the push of button and remains open for a period of time.
“It allows our patrons who use walkers and wheelchairs to easily access the library,” Becky Bolinger, manager of the Guernsey library branch. “They installed the ramp in fall of 2018 and the door has been in the works since then to get it installed.”
Bolinger added that everyone is “welcome to come to the library now and check us out.”
