GUERNSEY – After only a few short weeks, the grocery store building in Guernsey will once again serve the community with a locally-owned business.
Thrifty Foods owner from Wheatland, Jodi Axford, has been working overtime with help and support from her husband Dwayne (BJ), and First State Bank, to make arrangements to purchase the store from Lynn’s Superfoods, who closed their doors unexpectedly in mid-February.
Axford said, barring any unforeseen circumstances, there will be a small grand opening next Wednesday, April 2.
The new store will be called Super Foods and will run very similar to Thrifty Foods in Wheatland with an emphasis on providing what the Guernsey community wants and needs.
Axford stated she decided to take this step to open the Guernsey store, because she cares for the people in the community and sees their need, which she has been able to meet. She also pointed out there have been many in the community at large who have stepped up to help provide for the needs of the residents of Guernsey in these last few weeks.
