GUERNSEY – During Homecoming week, volleyball and football senior players and their families were recognized by the community. Lady Viking seniors Alyssa Nyquist, Kierstyn Collar, Kaiely Haase, Emma Stoneking, have been playing volleyball together since fifth and sixth grades. Viking football seniors have also been playing together for several years.
Each senior weighed in on the most important quality there should be in a Viking teammate.
Nyquist says it is important to be supportive and have accountability. Kierstyn Collar said hard work, effort and accountability are important. Haase sais it’s hard work and accountability for your actions that is most important, and Stoneking believes kindness and understanding the game, and remembering it’s about a team – not just one person.
Gretch said the most important quality is to give 110% and play for the people around you, not just for yourself. Mason Collar says accountability and work ethic are important. Edwards sid attitude is the most important. Bristow thinks it is important not to get down when times get hard; to learn how to move past mistakes. Weinkauf says a good attitude can lead others. Rotz said being a good person is most important. Radcliff says the most important quality in a teammate is to bring others up and always make playing football a great time.
