Class of 1982 holds class reunion at Guernsey-Sunrise High School

GUERNSEY – The line, “Where did the time go” was the most used line this past year at reunions all over the world and in Guernsey it was no exception for the class who has been part of the graduated class for 40 years.

The Guernsey-Sunrise 1982 alumni gathered Friday, July 1, and Saturday, July 2, for their 40-year class reunion. From the class that graduated 27 students that year with big hair and trendy clothes. 11 of those 27 returned forty years later for the celebration.

The festivities began Friday at Trail Ruts Golf Course where an alumni 9-hole scramble was organized. At 5 p.m. drinks and hors d’ oeuvres were hosted by Charles Howshar at his residence.

Saturday brought a fairly early rise to the Guernsey-Sunrise School where a tour took place which was coordinated by Lori Ibarra. In the afternoon a Bar-B-Que was hosted by John and Debbie Offe.

According to classmate Lori Ibarra, “We were the last class to graduate in the “old” gym or, the West Gym. The addition that connects the elementary to the high school and the new gym/commons area was built our senior year but not completed when we graduated.”
