Late Score Costs Wheatland Lobos 18U Against Belle Fourche Broncs

SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Wheatland Lobos 18U stayed in it until the end, but Belle Fourche Varsity Broncs pulled away late in a 7-5 victory on Friday.  The game was tied at five with Belle Fourche Varsity Broncs batting in the bottom of the sixth when Austin Warren induced JT Hahne to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored.
The Lobos got things started in the first inning when Ryland Petroski singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
After Wheatland scored two runs in the top of the fourth, Belle Fourche Varsity Broncs answered with two of their own.  Wheatland Lobos 18U scored when JP Anderson singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run and Petroski's sac fly scored one run for the Lobos.  The Broncs then answered when Anderson induced Dalton Davis to hit into a fielder's choice, but two runs scored.
Nolan Wahlfeldt was the winning pitcher for Belle Fourche. The righty allowed one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out four and walking one.
Anderson took the loss for the Lobos. He surrendered six runs on 11 hits over five and a third innings, striking out five and walking zero.
Aiden Voyles started the game for the Broncs. The pitcher went five innings, allowing five runs on seven hits and striking out two
Aric Suko led Wheatland with three hits in four at bats.
“The Broncs saw the ball well today,” said head coach Tony Montoya. “They racked up 12 hits in the game.  Anthony Budmayr, Harvey Walding, and Wahlfeldt each racked up multiple hits for Belle Fourche.  Budmayr went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead them in hits.  They were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Evan Vissia made the most plays with eight.”

Lobos take second game over Billings Expos Navy in a Blow-Out Victory, 13-5


The Wheatland Lobos 18U team had all cylinders firing on offense on Saturday, winning big over Billings Expos Navy 13-5
In the first inning, the Lobos got their offense started when Warren drew a walk, scoring one run.
They then tallied three runs in the fifth inning.  Wheatland scored its runs on a groundout by Petroski.
Petroski was the winning pitcher for Wheatland. The pitcher lasted three and a third innings, allowing three hits and four runs while striking out five.  Lane Nix threw three and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Wheatland collected nine hits on the day.  Matthew Wakkuri and Suko all managed multiple hits for Wheatland Lobos 18U.  Suko and Wakkuri each managed two hits to lead the Lobos.
The Billings Expos Navy racked up six hits. 

Lobos 18U Can't Catch Up To Billings Expos Red in game three
The Wheatland Lobos 18U fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 13-0 loss to Billings Expos Red June 3.  Billings Expos Red took the lead on a home run in the first inning.

The Lobos struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Billings Expos Red, giving up 13 runs.
Wakkuri took the loss for Wheatland. Wakkuri went two innings, allowing six runs on two hits and striking out two.


Late Score Costs Wheatland the game against Post 315 18U
The Wheatland Lobos 18U lost the lead late in a 4-2 defeat to Post 315 18U on June 4.  The game was tied at two with Post 315 18U batting in the bottom of the sixth when Dawson Buckley drew a walk, scoring one run.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, Post 315 18U tied things up at two. 
Grant Goodrich started the game for Wheatland. Goodrich allowed six hits and two runs over four and a third innings, striking out one and walking one.  Mason Collar and Braden Nilsson entered the game as relief, throwing one inning and two-thirds of an inning respectively.
Nolan Schaffner, Suko, Petroski, and Warren each managed one hit to lead the Lobos.
