Update from Camp Guernsey Joint Training Center: increase in training activity

Posted

GUERNSEY– According to a release by Camp Guernsey Joint Training Center’s Facebook page, there will be “an uptick in training activity on Camp this week to include C130s on the tactical landing strip in the far north, airborne operations north of Hartville, weapons training and aerial gunnery in the north range complex, helicopter training in both the north and south training areas, and convoy training in the south training area.”
The post further states, “Every effort has been made to thoroughly analyze each training event and to minimize the risk of starting a fire. As we’ve said before, the nature of our work is never risk-free, so we take additional measures to be prepared to respond in the event that there is a fire related to our activities. This week, we will have multiple fire response apparatus pre-staged throughout the north and south training areas as well as a Blackhawk with a bucket on station at the Camp Guernsey Airfield during peak training hours Tuesday through Friday.
As always, we appreciate the love and gratitude that comes from the community. Thank you for all that you do to support the defense of our nation!”
