GUERNSEY – Platte County School District No. 2 in Guernsey received a letter of resignation from one of its trustees, Kevin Gross, on Aug. 30.
“We have appreciated his service and dedication he has given us,” superintendent Lisa Weigel said.
In his resignation, Gross said professional obligations have made it difficult for him to provide the time commitment he felt was necessary to properly fulfill his obligation as a trustee, and also said he is thankful to have served the community as a board member for the past few years.
Gross was re-elected to the PCSD No. 2 board of trustees in 2024.
Gross’s trustee position has been officially opened by the school district, and applications to fill the vacancy are currently being accepted at the administration office. The PCSD No. 2 school board will review applications and hold a special meeting to appoint a replacement by Sept. 30.
