GSHS volleyball falls short of regional tournament

GUERNSEY – The Lady Vikings took on the Lady Miners of Hanna-Elk Mountain Monday, Oct. 28, in Viking territory for a pigtail game for the fourth seed at last weekend’s regional tournament.
Guernsey-Sunrise lost against Hanna-Elk Mountain in three sets:16-25, 25-27, and 21-25. The loss prevented GSHS from playing in the 1A East Regional Tournament. 
Leaders in the stat column were:  Jordan Atwood with five kills and 24 digs; Kierstyn Collar had five kills, two aces, and 11 digs; Leni Dimas posted four kills and three blocks; Liberty Whitebird had 19 digs; LaShea Dimas posted 19 digs; and Layla Noggle finished with 11 digs and 13 assists.
The Vikings finished the season with a 15-18 overall record and were 4-6 in conference play.
With 24 points, GSHS finished fourth out of six teams in the 1A Southeast quadrant standings.
