YODER – The Guernsey-Sunrise High School football team traveled to Yoder to play Southeast High School.
For the first time since week one, the Vikings managed to get the ball over the goal line, but lost the contest 69-6.
“It was a tough day for sure but we showed more improvement,” said head football coach Curtis Cook. “The drive we put together in the second quarter that led to Kolten Weinkauf's touchdown was a big step forward for us. We hadn't shown that ability until now but we had major contributions from Gabe Milton, Conner Bristow, and Nathan VanNatter on that series. Then we had an opportunity for a score at the end of the game in a pressure situation so that was a good learning opportunity for us also. Mason Collar had several good passes that helped us move the ball.”
The Vikings have yet to gain a victory this season and will be searching for one this week as they play at homeWright High School who is also winless this season. Kickoff will be at 7 p.m. at Viking stadium. This will be the Viking’s final home game of the year.
