GUERNSEY – A combination farmer’s market and concert in the park was a success, according to one organizer, Misty Thomas. Last Thursday was first time the two were combined in Guernsey, offering a combination of quality products for people to peruse, then hang out and enjoy Gordon Davis Park.
With the classic ‘80s tunes produced by New Wave Time Machine carrying across the park, a variety of products and homemade goods were on sale by local families at the market. One vendor, Anna Byrd, is just 15 years old, but for the past three summers has been selling the products of her imagination and skill: a wide variety of jewelry and poured resin products.
Byrd’s product line is called “Endless Beauty” and started with bracelets and expanded to include various necklaces, earrings, etc. utilizing a variety of products from metal and wire to shells and beads. She has added some resin products to her line, and though it’s a hard skill to learn, she says she loves working with the resin. But most of all, she’s thankful people like her work and encouraging her to continue creating.
