Guernsey-Sunrise Lady Vikings go into the break with a winning record

Posted

MIDWEST – For the first time in a few years, both the Lady Vikings and the boys varsity basketball teams are heading into the Christmas break with winning records.

Saturday’s win in Midwest gave the Lady Vikings their second win in the past two weeks and with the 50-29 victory, the girls head into the break at 2-1.

“It's always nice to get a win on the road anytime during the season and Midwest is a hard place to win,” said first-year head coach Curtis Cook. “It was very competitive from the start but we were able to pull away from them in the second half. Riley, Liberty, and, Layla had big games for us to help us get out of there with the win. Jordan and Lashea were solid for us as well. Our goal was to get to the break with a winning record and I'm so proud of these girls for achieving that goal. We have more to work on and our schedule is going to get tougher but these girls have shown they're up to the challenge.”
