Public meeting for Zynda case cancelled

Modified: Thursday, Oct 17th, 2013

GUERNSEY-A meeting that was scheduled for Tuesday evening (15th) to give an overview presentation of the Leslie Zynda tax evasion/embezzlement case was cancelled.

According to an e-mail received Monday afternoon from Cate Cundall, Clerk-Treasurer for the Town of Guernsey, Wyoming Department of Criminal Investigation Director Don Farmer contacted Mayor Ed Delgado and said “there would not be a presentation Tuesday from his agency on the Zynda investigation.” He stated “it is not the protocol for his agency to do presentations on how a case is conducted. Everything the public is allowed to know is in the judgment sentence that is attached.”

Zynda was charged with one felony count of income tax evasion. According to the sentencing documents, she must first pay restitution to the Town of Guernsey in the amount of $276,706 and an additional $75,089 to the Internal Revenue Service.
