Lady Vikes continue to work through rough season

GUERNSEY- The Lady Vikings came up short against the Midwest Lady Oilers two weeks ago. Midwest took the match in three games by scores of 25-23, 25-17 ad 25-5.

The Vikes also struggled at the Lusk tournament, falling to Hulett, 11-21 and 13-21.

Wright defeated the Vikes 21-9, 21-4 and Southeast also prevailed 21-9 and 21-12. Sundance also took their match by scores of 25-13 and 25-21; then went down to Lusk 25-12 and 25-13.

In the junior varsity games, Midwest topped Guernsey-Sunrise in two games of 25-15. At the Lusk tournament, the Vikes went down to Lingle-Fort Laramie in games of 14-21 and 21-22. Lusk defeated the Vikes 21-8 and 21-12 and Wright also prevailed, 21-8 and 21-2.

The Lady Vikings had no varsity games this past week as the game scheduled for Friday with Midwest was postponed due to bad weather.

The junior varsity fell just shy to the Wheatland junior varsity in three very close games.

The Vikes won the initial game 25-23 but lost the final two by scores of 24-26 and 21-25.

In junior varsity action at Glendo, Guernsey-Sunrise did get the win in games of 24-26, 25-16 and 25-19.

The high school C team fell to the Wheatland junior varsity team by scores of 19-25, 26-24 and 11-25.

This week, the junior varsity will take on Wheatland Tuesday (today). Games begin at 4 p.m.

On Thursday, the Douglas junior varsity will come to Guernsey. Games will begin at 5 p.m.

Southeast will come to Guernsey with games beginning at 1 p.m.
