Guernsey adding Trunk or Treat to Halloween fun

Posted: Thursday, Oct 10th, 2013

GUERNSEY--Treat Street is planned for Halloween, October 31st from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Businesses are encouraged to participate by providing treats for the little ghosts and goblins that will be visiting that afternoon.

There is a new twist to Treat Street this year for citizens of the community that would like to get in on the fun during Treat Street. They can partake in “Trunk or Treat” by bringing their car to Sunrise Street between Wyoming and Dakota. The area will be blocked off for the safety of the children. People can decorate their trunks and be ready to hand out treats. Guernsey Economic and Tourism Development Corporation will be judging the contest and The Town of Guernsey will be providing the prizes in the form of Platte County Pride Certificate. There will be $25 for first, $15 for second and $10 for third place.

The Annual Community Halloween Carnival sponsored by the Guernsey Lions Club will be held at the West Gym of the school from 6 until 8 p.m. that evening.
