GUERNSEY--Guernsey’s July Fourth celebration will kick off Wednesday the annual Street Dance from 9 fp.m. to 1 a.m. on Wednesday evening. The dance is held on North Woming Ave. (north of Highway 26) between Kelly’s and Ben’s Bars. Proof of age required to be admitted to alcohol access areas. Family area is available.
Don’t stay out too late though--because July 4th is filled with activities and entertainment.
Breakfast will be waiting for you in Gordon Davis Park from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. The breakfast is hosted by the Guernsey Lions Club and is at no charge to the public.
The annual Fourth of July Parade lines up at 9:30 a.m. and will head north on Wyoming Ave. from the four-way stop at the school at 10:30 a.m. sharp. This year’s theme is “Circle the Wagons.”
Bill and Nina Walker will serve as this year’s Grand Marshals.
Immediately following the parade, head over to Gordon Davis Park and check out the Classic and Antique Vehicles featured in the parade. Owners and drivers will be on hand to talk about their rides and you’re sure to see something special that will bring back memories.
Lunch will be available along with other items as vendors set up in the park for the afternoon.
Free swimming is available to everyone at Guernsey’s beautiful swimming pool.
The community fireworks display will be held at the airport at dusk.
“Hotel Transylvania” will be screened at dusk on Friday, July 6th--bring your blanket or lawn chair.
The Davy Foy Memorial 3 on 3 Basketball Tourney kicks off at 7 a.m. on Saturday morning at the schools.
