July Fourth parade plans taking shape

GUERNSEY--This year’s Fourth of July parade is on track to be one of the best in recent years.

With the possibility of some very special guests, orgnizers are hoping the community will get in the spirit of celebration and participate with some kind of entry in the parade.

This year’s theme is “Circle the Wagons” and prizes will be awarded for the top three places chosen by the judges. Criteria for judging will be relevance to theme, workmanship, participationl level and audience reaction.

Show and Shine entries WILL NOT REGISTER until the morning of the parade at check-in, however it will be very important that those entries arrive at check-in no later than 9:45 a.m. Show and Shine entries will line up on Burlington Street in front of the high school, beginning at the four-way stop intesection with Wyoming Ave.

All other entries need to pick up, fill out and return a registration form available at local businesses.

Registration forms will be distributed this week. Instructions will be attached regarding check-in and line-up for the remaining categories in the parade.

The parade will begin at 10:30 a.m. sharp and parade check-in and line-up begins at 9:30 a.m.Watch for further information and updates about the July 4th celebration in the weeks to come.
