GUERNSEY-When it comes to looking out for fellow members of a community, Guernsey has some very caring and creative people. With layoffs and furloughs hitting many families lately, combined with prices for everything going higher, many have had to rely on help from other sources such as Guernsey’s food pantry.
A local woman, Georgia Hillen, has offered a suggestion that could truly benefit the food pantry and ultimately help many area people.
Hillen has suggested that shoppers redeem all of their points on the items being offered through the remaining redemption period, and donate any items that they may not use or need to the local food pantry.
Donations may be left at the Food Pantry during business hours or at the church during office hours, Monday through Wednesday from 1-4 p.m.
They accept virtually any non-perishable food items. Canned meat is especially needed at this time.
