GUERNSEY-What began as a grassroots endeavor to put a brand new American Legion baseball team together for this season is on its way to becoming a reality in Guernsey.
Spearheaded by a group of players’ parents, they are working quickly to get everything in place to be eligible for this year’s upcoming season.
But the group needs help beyond what the parents can provide to pull this off. To that end, there is a meeting scheduled for Thursday, April 18 in the meeting room of Guernsey’s First State Bank at 7 p.m. for anyone in the community who would be willing to serve as a board member to oversee the program. They are also looking for volunteers willing to umpire home games.
If you would be willing to help out in either of these capacities, or have an interest in supporting the program in any way, please plan to attend this meeting where additional information will be shared regarding the needs for the program.
If you cannot attend but have any questions, need more information, or would like to volunteer, you may also call Lisa Bye at 534-6009.
