MIDWEST--The Lady Vikings slipped by the Midwest Oilers 17-15 in the fifth and deciding game of a match that was tough all the way last Friday in Midwest.
The Oilers took the first two games 25-20 and 25-15 and it looked as if Midwest would walk away with a quick win. But the Vikings fought back to take the third (25-23) and fourth (25-16) games.
The junior varsity team got a two-game win over the Oilers 25-14 and 25-16.
The Vikes played in the Morrill Invitational Tournament the following day and dropped matches to Bayard (11-25, 14-25) and then to Crawford (18-25, 17-25). They finally found a bright spot as they took down Minatare, 25-19 and 25-17.
This week, the Lady Vikes’ junior varsity and C team went to Douglas Monday and will play at Wheatland on Tuesday (tonight) at 4 p.m.
On Friday, October 5, the Vikes will host Lingle-Fort Laramie. Games begin at 3:30 p.m.
On Saturday, the team will head to Yoder for a match-up with Southeast. Games begin at 1 p.m.
