Out of the Ashes...

This photo was taken by Bud Giguere behind his home Monday morning as he and his wife surveyed the aftermath of the fire. The Gigueres were one of a nearly a dozen homeowners along or near the south entrance to Guernsey State Park whose homes were threatened Saturday night by a fire that started in Kelly Park earlier that day. High winds gusting to 65 miles per hour and constant changes in wind direction hampered firefighter’s efforts to control the blaze the first two days.
