GUERNSEY-The Guernsey-Sunrise Vikings took another step toward a state championship in Class 1-A Six-Man football Friday as they disposed of the Little Snake River Rattlers 57-28 at Viking Stadium.

The game was never really in question as the Vikes jumped out to an 18-0 lead in the first quarter and pushed that to 45-8 by the halftime break. They added 12 second-half points to take the 29-point win.

The win sends the Vikings (7-2) on to the second round of the playoffs and a road trip Friday to take on Meeteetse (9-1). That game will kick off at 5 p.m.

The winner will take on the winner of Midwest (9-1)/Dubois (8-1) game for the state championship in Laramie on November 16, 10 a.m. in War Memorial Stadium at the University of Wyoming.
