Guernsey's Fourth deemed huge success!

Posted: Tuesday, Jul 9th, 2013

In a scene that could have been taken directly from the streets of Mayberry, this 1955 Chevy police car owned by Frank Jones of Wheatland, was one of a pair of cars that claimed third place in Guernsey’s July Fourth parade last week. Complete with a pair of jail birds following, this car was one of the most popular entries in the Classic Cars division.

GUERNSEY--With perfect weather and excellent public turnout, Guernsey’s 2013 Fourth of July celebration was a hit from just about any angle viewed.

Organizers were more than pleased with this year’s turnout for the events. Community Development Coordinator Bruce Heimbuck, stated, “This has been a great day for the community. The event is getting bigger every year. It is a joy to see the community having a great time and using the park for fun. This day works for the community because of the hard work of our volunteers. We will be looking for more volunteers for next year as we are adding things and that takes more workers.”
